Lesson 2: Federal Laws and Court Cases: Threats to the Family

​This lesson covers the Dred Scott case as well as laws like the Missouri Compromise and the Kansas-Nebraska Act and how how they became threats to unity in slave families.
Lesson 1: Women's Roles

This lesson covers the differences in lives, roles, and responsibilities between white plantation mistresses, slave women, and free women of color prior to the Civil War.
